"The Prayer Warriors Alliance (PWA) is a California non-profit organization that supports incarcerated men and women of all faiths through correspondence to foster hope and strengthen the inmate’s connection to society."
PWA is a prayer-based, non-denominational California 501(c)(3) non-profit organization registered as CA OAG charity number CT0274044 that welcomes volunteer Warriors and prison inmates of any faith.
At PWA, we believe that inmates should have access to supportive, publicly available information that will help them get out and stay out of prison.
We have created a Query form for inmates to request information on topics that might interest them, such as: song lyrics, articles for college coursework, pictures of scenery, etc.
This Query form is completed by the inmate and mailed to our PO box in San Diego.
This Query is then researched by one of our Prayer Warriors, printed to paper, and mailed directly back to the inmate, completely free of charge.
Each Query takes less than 1 hour to complete and we ask our volunteer Warriors to be able to do about one Query per week.
PWA needs your support! Our small band of faithful volunteers needs more Warriors to help fulfill the Queries that steadily stream into our PO box.
To become a volunteer Prayer Warrior, you simply need a computer, color printer, and stamps for the envelopes that you will mail to the inmates.
The majority of the workflow uses digital PDFs, so you can do the research and printing from the comfort of your own home. We have Warriors in California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and even the United Kingdom.
Imagine this: your incarcerated loved one calls and asks you to send them information for their art project or college degree.
Now, imagine doing that for someone you've never met. If you can visualize yourself being an integral part of an organization designed to freely assist others on their own road to re-integration, then you're in the right place.
Contact us and start your journey today. You will be a welcome member of a powerful group supporting others through kindness, compassion, and prayer.
